Hey hey – Shannon here!
Travel enthusiast, outdoor lover, and adventure planner fueled by curiosity and a seriously long bucket list.
I grew up in the Chicagoland area, but even from a young age, I felt a deep pull to explore the world beyond the Midwest. After nearly a decade working the traditional corporate 9-5, I finally decided to take the leap. I left my job, packed my bags, and spent two months backpacking across Norway—then followed that with another two months road-tripping through the U.S. with my four-legged sidekick, Smitty.
Since then, I’ve embraced the digital nomad lifestyle, spending the last year and a half exploring different mountain towns in search of a place that feels like home. So far, Colorado has captured my heart the most—but I’m still following the journey wherever it leads.
So far, I’ve visited over 15 countries (and counting!), with a personal goal of adding at least two new stamps to my passport each year. From rugged hiking trails and remote campsites to vibrant city streets and tucked-away local restaurants, I’m constantly chasing the next outdoor adventure or unforgettable meal. Whether it’s hiking, skiing, fishing, or just soaking up the scenery with a slow walk, being outside is where I feel most alive.
When I’m not living out of a suitcase, I’m usually in the Midwest catching up with family and friends—or out exploring with my favorite travel companion, Smitty. He’s my 4-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer and the ultimate co-pilot. We’ve logged over 5,000 miles together across the U.S., always on the hunt for dog-friendly hikes, patios, and places to stay. He’s my velcro dog and my trail buddy for life.

Over the years, I’ve stayed everywhere—from five-star hotels to the tiniest hostel rooms—and I’ve learned that every place has a story to tell. I love sharing mine in hopes of inspiring others to step out of their comfort zones and experience the world in their own way.
Now, I’m thrilled to be offering travel planning services through Fora—helping others discover their dream destinations, whether they’re seasoned adventurers or first-time travelers. If you’re looking for help planning your next big trip, I’d love to be a part of the journey.
