Best Beaches on Montserrat Island

Montserrat Island has 9 beaches that can be accessed by the public. Many of the other beaches are unfortunately closed due to the active Volcano,
I was able to visit all of the public beaches on Montserrat Island las year and narrowed down my favorites. Here are a few of my favorites beaches to visit on Montserrat Island.
My favorite beaches on Montserrat Island
Most of the beaches listed below were within walking distance of the home I stayed in on the Island. All of the beaches have free parking available nearby if you are staying closer to the airport.
1. Rendezvous Beach
Rendezvous Beach is the only white sand beach on the island. There are three ways to get to the beach.

✅ Hike to Rendezvous Beach
This hike is considered to be moderate as you go up and down the side of a mountain. My recommendation is to do this hike early in the day as there is not a lot of shade on the trail. There’s some significant scrambling you’ll have to do on the north side of the trail.

✅ Paddle to Rendezvous Beach
Scuba Montserrat offers guided tours as well as kayak/paddle board rentals to Rendezvous. I’d recommend having flexibility on this activity since they won’t let you take boats out if the current is unsafe. They also have snorkel gear you can rent for your trips whether you take the boat ride or rent a kayak on your own.
2. Lime Kiln Beach
Lime Kiln Beach is one of the many beaches on the islands turtles will use for nesting. There’s also several picnic benches under the almond trees.

3. Carr’s Bay Beach
Carr’s Bay is near Little Bay Beach with a few restaurants nearby. If you have time, grab a drink at Point’s Beach View.

4. Woodlands Beach
A favorite spot among locals to picnic and have a beach day!

5. Fox’s Bay Beach
My favorite beach on the island, on any given day you will be the only person on the beach. It takes a bit of off-roading to get there, but it’s totally worth it.
