10 Best Dog-Friendly Parks, Trails and Breweries in Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs has something to offer year-round, and the best part? You don’t have to leave your furry friend behind! With countless dog-friendly spots to explore, you and your pup can experience the city together.
1. Pub Dog Park
Pub Dog is the only restaurant in Colorado Springs where you can dine indoors with your pup. They offer a fun dog-friendly menu and a spacious fenced-in patio where your furry friend can play while you enjoy delicious food and drinks.
2. Garden of the Gods Park
Garden of the Gods Park is dog-friendly, but pups must stay on a leash at all times. The trails are well-marked, and you’ll find dog waste stations conveniently placed throughout the park. And the best part, it is free!

Shan’s Tip: There is an off-leash park at the front of the park near Rock Ledge Ranch. This is a perfect spot to let your dog run loose for a bit before having them on a leash in the park.
3. Bristol Brewing Company
Bristol Brewing Company is located in a repurposed school and home to their Laughing Lab brew. This is a perfect spot for a warm day with your pup as they have plenty of outdoor seating!

4. Red Rock Canyon Open Space
In my opinion, Red Rock Canyon is the best spot to take your pup for a great workout. Spanning over 1,400 acres, it features a 785-acre fenced off-leash area where dogs can roam freely. For a more peaceful experience, try visiting early in the morning on weekdays to avoid the crowds!

5. Visit Royal Gorge
A must see when you’re in town! Royal Gorge is a little over an hour away from Colorado Springs. Be sure to check the weather ahead of time, the bridge and other activities close during bad weather.
Dogs are welcome on the bridge and outdoor area as long as they are on a leash. Make sure to buy your tickets ahead of time and save $5!

6. Shop around Manitou Springs
Downtown Manitou Springs is worth a visit with your pup. Most of the stores are dog-friendly as long as your dog is well behaved. Be sure to check out one of the many natural mineral springs in town to stay hydrated.

7. Bear Creek Dog Park
Bear Creek is a great option if you’re looking to get your dog out and active and socialized. The great thing about this park is the agility course built within the park.
8. Mount Muscoco Trail
The Mount Muscoco Trail is one of the best mountain hikes in the Colorado Springs area. Smitty and I had the trail to ourselves for the entire hike, and it was absolutely stunning. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times, and parking is limited, so be sure to arrive early!

9. Pikes Peak
Full disclosure: Smitty and I didn’t make it to the peak on our last visit due to high winds and rough weather. However, I do know that you can drive all the way to the top, where you’ll find a few short, dog-friendly trails. If you’re planning a visit, be sure to check the Pikes Peak website in advance to reserve your time slot—especially during the warmer months!

10. Jack & Telly’s Greek Taverna
If you’re a fan of Mediterranean food, Jack & Telly’s is the place to go in Colorado Springs. They offer a fantastic dog-friendly outdoor seating area, perfect for dining with your pup. And don’t forget to try the Spanakopita—it’s a must!
When is the best time to visit Colorado Springs?
Honestly, any time of year can be a great time to visit. The weather in Colorado Springs is relatively mild, but that doesn’t mean they don’t get some harsh winter days. During my time living there, I’d experience a blizzard with temperatures below 30 one day, and the next it would be 60 degrees. If you’re aiming for ideal weather, I’d recommend visiting between August and October or May through July.
